sedcat offers regular social outings and trips in fully accessible vehicles to help people get out and chat with others, make friends and enjoy the local area. Our popular trips are ideal for people with mobility problems who want to get out with others, taking in the sights, maybe a pub lunch or a visit to a local attraction.

Accessible Local Days Out – Mini Trips

As we move out of lockdown cautiously, our work as a charity especially in combatting loneliness and isolation will be more important than ever as we work towards helping people get out, remain independent and able to socialise with others.

Some trips may not go ahead as planned due to tier restrictions applicable at the time or the location may be changed to an outdoor venue.

Unfortunately at the moment we can’t run our usual list of outings and pub lunches but from the 12th August we are trialling weekly ‘mini trips’ for Bournemouth residents which will give everyone the opportunity to spend some time out of the house on a Wednesday or a Thursday. Small groups will travel together (with social distancing measures in place) to local places which have outdoor seating areas and the trips will be between 1.5 -2 hours duration.

Social distancing measures mean that the number of passengers per trip will be limited and face masks must be worn on the bus. Please follow this link to our COVID risk assessment document>>

Join the “Buddies on the Bus”

Using one of our accessible 14 seater minibuses, we offer day trips and outings to older men in Bournemouth and Poole who are at risk of social isolation. Our “Buddies on the Bus” project gives men opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances, share activities and increase feelings of confidence and wellbeing.
